Chunks of Time
The following words are all used to note an amount or length of time. Organise them into the correct order, putting the shortest at the top, and the longest at the bottom.
(A “T1” exercise, which simply aims to clarify or consolidate pupils’ grasp of differing “amounts” of time, and develop their understanding of duration. This is a fairly straightforward version, but more complex ones can be designed which incorporate a wider range of the differing terms which are used to classify units or periods of time. By using “insert comment” from the insert menu, pupils can be provided with the answers after they have attempted the exercise).
