T1 Exercise 5

B.C./A.D. and Time vocabulary

Look at the words at the bottom of the page. Which of them are associated with Ancient History (in this case we are defining ancient History as being before the birth of Jesus Christ- B.C.), and which are associated with more recent history (in this case defined as being after the birth of Jesus Christ- A.D.)

BCAD and Time vocabulary

Once you have divided the words into ones that you think belong to B.C. and ones that belong to A.D. (plus are there any which cross B.C. and A.D.?), move the A.D. ones which are closest to the present day to the right hand side of the box, and the ones nearest to A.D. 1 to the left hand side of the box. Then do the same with the words on the B.C. side- words closest to A.D on the right hand side of the box, words longest ago in B.C. on the left of the box.
